Depending on how you cast, you may have been charged with seeking out your own gear in the past. This has been a caster task for some time now. With the release of new update in the game, all that has changed; and now it is possible for all casters to enjoy the same modifiers and attribute boosts from the same gear. Many other basics casting mechanics have changed as well such as spell push back, channeling time, and just about everything else you can imagine. PvP and most everything else in the game will be profoundly affected by these changes.
The first major change mentioned above is the introduction of the Spell Power stat. This new stat replaces both +healing and +spelldamage to make a one size fits all spell stat. This has a lot of great effects. First, it makes finding gear for casters much easier. While cloth wearers probably didn’t have much trouble before, Paladins, Shamans, and Druids probably did because each of them could have both +healing or +spelldamage needs. Since all gear for them is now uniform, it will be much easier to spec as a caster with a hybrid build.
In addition, the Spell Interruption dynamic has been changed so that regular spell casting is sped up by -0.5 for the first hit and second hit to keep interruptions lower. For channeled spells, the total channeling time is reduced by 25% for the first two hits you take. This means hits won’t stop channeling, but will just cut them by up to 50%.
Overall, the changes to casting make playing a caster a bit easier, add more gear options and open up new possibilities for almost every class in the game.
